Alter—Resistances: Liberation as a Project
Published during the second edition of the Porto Design Biennale, the Alter—Journals series is dedicated to the theme "Alter—Realities" and presents new perspectives on issues of production, care, experiences and landscapes.
"Alter—Resistances: Liberation as a Project" was born out of the need for emerging dialogue between designers from all over Brazil in the Covid and post-Covid era. Motivated by reading the books of the educator Paulo Freire, they began to meet remotely in search of answers that the responsibilities of professional design activity could bring in the face of the reality in which Brazil was living.
Defending the emancipation of all marginalised groups, the articles in this 6th issue of Alter—Journals reject totalising design and propose popular organisational practices.
